FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Promoting September 18 and November
27, 2004 workshops.
(Limited distribution -- particular environmental media.)
Investing for the Soul
Workshop
Empowers Green Investors
Toronto,
Ontario -- Investors
everywhere want a better world, but have great difficulty in
discovering how to invest in ways that help to create it. Now in Toronto, on September 18, and again on November 27,
Investing for the Soul offers an extraordinary new workshop
that solves this problem. It gives investors the chance to peer
into the future economy, revealing industries that reflect
higher human values.
In addition, this workshop, "Envisioning the Future for Profit &
Fulfillment," provides investors with unique tools. These tools
will help them to define and apply their specific ecological,
spiritual, and other cherished values to investing decisions. By
the end of this six-hour workshop, participants will have
created a 'big vision' investment picture that incorporates
their highest values. They can then take this vision to their
investment advisor and transform it into a real investment
portfolio and thereby make their contribution to the creation of
a better world.
Incorporating our prized values in investing does not mean
sacrificing investing profits either. Using Morningstar ranking
data, The Social Investment Forum (U.S.) showed that mutual
funds applying social and environmental screening criteria
consistently outperformed mutual funds generally in the years
2001 to 2003. Similarly in Canada, the screened Jantzi Social
Index has usually outperformed its unscreened Toronto Stock
Exchange index equivalents since it's formation in January 2000.
The "Envisioning the Future for Profit & Fulfillment" workshop
continues to gain traction due to the enthusiasm of its course
participants. As Marsha Lecour, an educator, writes, "This was
the first workshop that I have attended that has provided me
with a basis of investing financially for the soul -- this is a
very timely workshop."
Studies in the United States by MMA Praxis and from GlobeScan in
Canada, show that the vast majority of investors want their
investment portfolios to reflect their personal values. Yet,
most investment advisors and financial planners are ill-equipped
to engage their clients in such discussions.
Frank Miotto, a successful financial advisor in
Toronto, has this to say about our workshop and its
benefits for investors and those in his profession, "I highly
recommend this workshop for both investors and investment
advisors alike. Advisors should take it to better service their
clients."
The workshops again are on September 18 or November 27, from
9:30am to 4:30pm, at the Novotel Toronto North York Hotel, 3 Park Home Avenue (at Yonge
Street), North York, Ontario,
Canada. Fee: if paid three weeks before workshop date,
CDN$89(plus 7%
GS Tax),
thereafter CDN$119(plus 7%
GS Tax). Fee can
also be paid in U.S. dollars. Apply now at

call 705-635-3034.
Investing for the
Soul was founded by Ron Robins on May 4, 2003, in
Toronto, Ontario,
to help investors
bring their higher values into investing decisions.
Since then several successful pilot workshops were offered
prior to launching "Envisioning the Future for Profit &
Fulfillment" in 2004. Two additional workshops are in
preparation. They are "Successful Investing Demands Higher
Spiritual Consciousness," and "Finding Investments for
Superior Profits." Mr. Robins is also working on a book with
the title, "Investing for the Soul: Investing for Superior
Profits and Spiritual Fulfillment."
